Find what does not agree with you.
Eatolerance is a food diary that does the maths. It compares your days with a substance against your days without it and tells you what your symptoms line up with - instead of handing you a list to read through yourself.
For IBS, histamine intolerance, lactose, fructose, gluten and the FODMAPs. The diary stays on your phone.
Eight weeks of a diary. One box is one day, the darker it is, the worse the symptoms.
What the app does.
None of it costs anything, and none of it asks for an account.
+ As many profiles as you like, shareable
One diary per person - the children, yourself. Sharing works with a short code, so two parents can keep the same diary.
+ A catalogue of 1509 foods
From a bread roll to a Big Mac, with portions, allergens and a substance profile. Anything missing is added the first time somebody types it - and is then there for everyone.
+ Symptoms with severity and duration
Body area, severity from 0 to 10, when it started and how long it lasted. The analysis works with the severity, not just with "yes" and "no".
+ A dose, not a trace
A croissant carries 0.4 g of lactose, a latte macchiato twelve. Only an amount that actually weighs something turns a day into a day with the substance.
+ What cannot be told apart stays together
Lactose and milk protein always arrive together - so the app names them as one thing and says which single meal would separate them.
+ Honest when the data is thin
If there is not enough, the app says so. When many substances are tested at once, it corrects for all that testing - otherwise you always find something.
+ Six languages
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese - the food names and their synonyms included.
+ Every food with a picture
The catalogue brings a drawn picture and the usual portions with it, so a line in the diary stays recognisable when you scroll past it.
+ Two years of diary in one second
Even at 3500 meals the analysis is there immediately, and the day strip summarises instead of cutting off.
+ Works offline
Writing, reading and analysing work without a network. Only a food the catalogue does not know yet needs a connection, once.
+ The diary stays on the device
The maths happens on the phone. Only a profile you share yourself ever leaves the house.
+ No account, no ads
No sign-up, no newsletter, no ads, nothing resold. The server sees food names and nothing else.
Three steps, and you do two of them.
Breaking food down and comparing days happen by themselves. What is left is writing it down - as briefly as possible.
Write it down
Tap a meal, tap a symptom. A meal is one line, however many things went into it. The time can be filled in later - most of it is noted afterwards anyway.
Break it down
Every food is broken into its substances once: lactose, fructose, fructans, sorbitol, histamine, gluten, tyramine, caffeine and the EU allergens. Once for everyone, not once per person.
Compare
The app compares days with a substance against days without it - per body area with the time window that fits: the gut on the same day, the skin up to three days later.
A sentence you can read out to somebody.
No p-values, no traffic light without a reason. The numbers stand next to it so that you can disagree.
On 22 of 25 days with lactose you had symptoms - and on 2 of 31 days without lactose.
On days with lactose the symptoms were also worse: 5 out of 10 on average instead of 0. The more lactose, the stronger the symptoms.
That is all the app has.
Add, diary, analysis, profiles. All of it in six languages, food names included.
What Eatolerance is not
Not a diagnosis. What comes out is a pattern in your own diary - something to take to a doctor or a dietitian, and not a reason to drop a food for good on your own.
